It will be broadcast …

Bidh e ga chraoladh …

We have seen structures with ga many times in this course.

We will look here at an guth fulangach (the passive voice) and how these structures are used to create a passive meaning.

If we want to form a sentence with a progressive passive meaning, structures with ga are used.

You can see ga with the progressive passive sense here:

Tha prògraman ùra  gam  f ilmeadh.
Are new programmes at their filming.  New programmes are being filmed.

Tha iad  gam  f ilmeadh an-dràsta.
They are  at their filming just now. They are being filmed just now.

The ga here agrees with the gender or number of the noun or pronoun being used:

mi → gam
thu → gad
→ ga
→ ga
sinn → gar
sibh → gur
iad → gan (gam le b,f,m,p)
prògraman → gan (gam le b,f,m,p)

Tha am pìos ga chraoladh. (fireann)

Tha an òraid ga craoladh. (boireann)
